Hi everyone! I’m Mandy Bush and I am the online business manager for Cardinal Rule Press (Maria’s publishing company). I am a mother of 2 (son and daughter) and I will be blogging this month on Be the Difference and will be recapping some valuable tips from Maria’s new show, Empowering Kids With Character – The Show!
On February 1, Maria shared that the month of February would be focused on LOVE and shared a great way to love on your children. You can watch the full video here.
The project Maria showed us will take ONE MINUTE!!
- Cut out hearts from construction paper.
- Every day, from 02/01 – 02/14, you write something positive about WHO your children are (try not to focus on superficial things, like how they look) and write it on the heart.
- Post these on their bedroom doors, one per day!
If you’re unsure about what to write, focus on positive character traits that your children have;
- “you are a good friend”
- “you take care of your brother and sister”
- “you are a leader”
- “you do your homework”
- “you work hard”
- “you never give up”
- “You try your best”
Maria does this for Valentine’s Day (my husband and I did it this year for the first time and our son was so excited!) BUT this can also be done whenever you want or see that your child needs some encouragement! I think that this is something special you could do during your child’s birth month and I just may incorporate it for the birthday month to love on my child a little extra!
As you can see, this is a simple, inexpensive and quick way to encourage positive character traits in your children at a young age!
