As a social skills educator, mother of three, and children’s book author, Maria knows that this fall is going to be challenging in many ways for school staff, families and children. Many families are choosing to Homeschool or helping their children with Distance Learning due to state and/or district mandates. Typically, each fall Maria visits schools for large group assemblies, speaking on positive character traits such as anti-bullying, kindness, empathy and more. This is something she has done as a children’s book author for over a decade.

She has updated her programs to be able to reach students virtually and was able to do this in the spring during the Covid-19 closures. Maria’s large group virtual programs received positive feedback. They were engaging and children enjoyed connecting with Maria from their home computers.

For schools back in person, we can provide a link so that classrooms can stream the virtual visit on a smart board in their room. If your students will be home this fall, we can provide a link where their families can log on to the virtual visit from the comfort of their own home. Here are details and pricing. We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have about the fall programs that Maria is offering. Reach out with any questions here: info@mariadismondy.com

This week we kicked off Sunny Side Homeschool. A class Maria began teaching back in March 2020 when the pandemic closed schools across the country. The class is a short 30 minute Zoom call where children engage in learning about important topics like getting along with siblings, kindness, determination and more. (see the full list of topics below!)

These meetings are interactive, positive lessons which focus on mental wellness and social skills for children. Mental wellness is something we need to really be thinking about and paying attention to during these times where staying home is not always the best situation for all children and families (read more about mental health for children during the pandemic here). You can find out more HERE about Sunny Side Homeschool. There are options for an individual student to sign up, families to sign up and an entire classroom as well.
