Maria goes live every other week, taking turns between her author Facebook page and her private Empowering Kids with Character Facebook group. In honor of LGBTQ during the month of June, Maria gave us some books to read! She gave us the first set of books on June 6th and you can watch the video here. On June 20th, she followed up with the second set of book recommendations and you can watch that video here.

For the second set of books, Maria shared books that teach children how families can look different. Some children have stepparents, one mom, one dad, two dads, two moms, are being raised by extended family, etc. A great way to introduce children to how families can look different from their own is to read them picture books!

What books would you add to this list? We’d love to hear from you! Hop on over to our Facebook group and let us know!

Have you signed up for the Maria’s newsletter? You will learn more about raising kind and caring humans using positive character traits in your home or classroom. By signing up, you will also receive, FREE, our Ultimate Character Booklist with over 100 books we recommend you have in your home or classroom library!

Remember that Maria alternates these videos between her author page and the private Empowering Kids with Character page, which provides more ideas on the monthly theme and also support from fellow parents and educators!

Don’t forget to add the Empowering Kids With Character Flash Briefing on your Amazon Alexa app, Google Play or favorite podcast app!
