Maria goes live every other week, taking turns between her author Facebook page and her private Empowering Kids with Character Facebook group. On May 23rd, she talked about individual learning goals in the summer. You can watch the video here.

As an educator for a little over a decade, Maria knows the importance of continuing to learn over the summer! We need to hold our kids accountable for engaging in learning practices so they continue to use the skills they learned during the school year.

Individual Learning Goals for Summer - mariadismondy.com

At the end of the school year, your children will receive a report card/assessment. Take time to review this and write down what it is that the children need to work on during the summer. Maria writes this down in a “Summer Binder” (you can find some fun printables on Pinterest) and plans out what they will work on for the 15-20 minutes, per day, that they spend on learning through the summer. You can also work on life skills like tying shoes, sewing, or even yard work (yay!). What are some skills that you work on with your children in the summer to keep their growing brains learning? We want to know!

Have you signed up for the Maria’s newsletter? You will learn more about raising kind and caring humans using positive character traits in your home or classroom.
