Hi everyone! It’s Mandy (mother of 2 – a 5-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl). I am blogging on Be the Difference, recapping some valuable tips from Empowering Kids With Character – The Show!

December’s theme is about generosity and Maria opened up the month, on the 6th, with a very cute and fun idea! You can watch the full video here.

First, you can read the following book, The Legend of the Candy Cane by Lori Walburg (side note: this does have religious components) before doing the following project. It shares the history of the beloved Christmas candy! Then you can dive into your project!

SUPPLIES:

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Print out the labels
  • Put some glue on one side of the label and wrap around the candy cane – placing the heart on one side of the candy cane and the writing on the other.
  • Place the candy canes on cars in parking lots at church, grocery stores, etc.

Remember that Maria alternates these videos between her author page and the private Empowering Kids with Character page, which provides more ideas on the monthly theme and also support from fellow parents and educators!
