About the Book-Knitting Nell by Julie Jersild Roth
Nell knits . . . a lot. She knits blankets for new babies, socks and hats and mittens for the children’s home, and scarves for everyone in her family.
What Nell doesn’t do is talk a lot. She listens to her friends chat and laugh, and she knits some more.

What this book teaches-Compassion
My review of the book:
Knitting Nell is a story about a little girl who is quiet and has a quiet hobby, which is knitting. She is teased for being herself and oftentimes made fun of by not only her friends, but her family members for her love of knitting. Not only does Nell love to knit, but she would knit to help others and made scarves for clothing drive donations. Near the end of the story, she inspired others to help her knit for the clothing drive. Read this book to your children to encourage them to follow their passions and their hobbies.
