About the book-Unique Monique by Maria Rousaki
Monique hates her school uniform. Brown and blue? Who wants to wear brown and blue? Monique wants to be different. One day she finds a trunk filled with her mother’s old clothes, and the next day , and the day after that, and the day after that Monique transforms her boring old brown and blue, (and herself), until she finally learns that no matter what you wear, individuality always shines.

What this book teaches-Individuality
My review of the book:
I can totally relate to this book because I went to private school for a few years and hated wearing a uniform. I wanted to express my fashion sense (which I later in life have come to terms with that I don’t have one) and it was hard when we all wore the same thing. This is a story of Monique who wants to be unique but finds it difficult when everyone around her tells her what she can and can not wear. This book is a lovely reminder to let our children choose their own clothing and practice independence in order to express themselves.
