We tried out a new family activity: Geocaching
What is this you ask? Read below to find out!
From the Official Geocaching Website: Geocaching is the real-world treasure hunt that’s happening right now, all around you. There are 2,469,490 active geocaches and over 6 million geocachers worldwide.
Can you believe it? Millions of treasures already hidden and waiting for you and your little ones to find!
We downloaded the app and set out last week on our first two missions. The first one was in a wooded area and we traded for a treasure. The second find was a size extra small and did not contain a special trinket. This was a learning experience for my daughter who was very upset treasures were not available in all of the geocaches.
We tried for a third find on Sunday and failed! There are different levels of difficulty, a number of terrains and as mentioned before, the sizes vary too. Sometimes there are hints to help you out, but in this case, there were none and we needed all the help we could get!
It’s a fun family activity that can be done any place and almost anytime. Check out the informational videos that help you get started!
