Since we became a family of four, we go out to eat maybe every two-three weeks. I cook most weeks but oh, the luxury of going out to eat and having a delicious meal that I didn’t slave over? Yes, please! The thing is, it can be scary to go out to eat with a three-year-old and a teething eleven month old!!! Then a friend (I can’t remember who or I would give them credit—probably Holly or Danielle because I talk to them daily and they are my go to mamas) shared the idea of a “Restaurant Bag” with me.
A restaurant bag is always in your car. It is ready at all times and filled with things to keep the kiddos busy when you go out to eat. We’ve used it a few times and it has been a B-L-E-S-S-I-N-G!!!
Ideas for what to put in a restaurant bag:
- coloring books
- crayons (crayola–don’t you just hate the cheap-o crayons at restaurants?)
- baby toys/rattles
- deck of Go-Fish cards
- mini books
- notepad
- markers
- wipes
- more wipes
- toilet seat covers
- reusable or throw away table mats
- stickers
- kleenex
- clorox wipes (we always clean up our kiddos mess. It makes us feel a little better about the crayons going across the room 🙂 )
Do you have a bag like this? What do you put in it?
