I am packing the girls up and we are headed up north to a friend’s cottage for a few days of fun in the sun. My friend Holly’s cottage is super peaceful. I’ve taken many trips to her cottage and her Yacht Club…which is, hands down, one of my favorite places on earth. Torch Lake looks like the ocean with it’s crystal clear, fresh, blue water (and unlike the ocean, there are no scary sharks.) All of these reasons, along with loving time spent with my old college roommate, make me want to make the trek up there. I am a little nervous about going on the trip alone with the two kids so what do I do when I am anxious? I organize and prepare!!!!
For the trip, I have the following things packed for the car, along with a basket of books for the girls to “read.” Not all items are pictured below.
If I am missing anything fun for the car, let me know in the comments below. I also made myself a fun playlist to listen to when the girls fall asleep (I hope they will) and one to listen to with them.
Stay tuned for pictures from Torch Lake next week!

Car Tic Tac Toe and I Spy ABCs (It just dawned on me that with me driving and her sister being only 9 months old, my three year old can’t play tic tac toe with anyone so she will simply be crossing off what she sees!)
I Spy in a Bottle: You can use rice, sand or bird seed for this.
